Looking forward to start this summer break. I live my summer break as a New year's Eve days, where after that everything start again hopefully in a new adventure/new events.

This (school) year A L O T it happened. As usual. Because life is always a combo of things all together like a witch's cauldron! 🧙‍♀️

I hope to be able this Sunday to come back home finally after 7 months and see my fam. 🤞🏻

How important are relationships for you?

Thinking about your teacher(s). What would you change in this relationship? (whether you're the student or the teacher). What did wrong the teacher with you, or what you've done wrong as a teacher?

Being a music teacher it's not easy (as any jobs). The only difference is that we are teaching something that is not material. We are teaching something that is good for souls, minds, languages, communication, collaboration and so much more.

How many times happen that someone had a bad relationship with the music teacher (instrumental also)?... Still A Lot.
That's because there are still people doing this job as a "replace" job and not a passionate one. This develop in these teachers a no communication/empathy/relation skill. Something that simply destroy the student step by step.

Music is already frustrating and difficult most of all for who decides to reach a career as a performer. And what's worse than a teacher taking you down?
🔸
A teacher is a mentor, a facilitator, a friend (sometimes), with a positive approach. A teacher encourage his/her students to accept challenges. A good teacher will convey his/her passion and enthusiasm for music. A teacher should never push you down but let you understand to aim high most of all when you are down.

Ho iniziato ad insegnare quando avevo 18 anni. Ancora mi ricordo la prima lezione. Due bambini, due fratelli, uno più pazzo dell'altro. Inglesi in Italia (forse era già un segno) senza regole. Era una e vera e propria giungla.

Senza esperienza nell'insegnamento, pensavo di potercela fare. Devo ammettere che è stato forse il primo ostacolo a livello educativo.
🔸
Purtroppo insegnare musica, ancora oggi, viene considerato un rimpiazzo. Non c'è una vera conoscenza di quello che c'è dietro a livello emotivo, relazionale, di preparazione e di ambizione.

Personalmente mi ricordo ogni studente che ho avuto in questi (già) quasi 10 anni di insegnamento. Ed ognuno di loro mi ha sempre lasciato/insegnato qualcosa. Me li porterò tutti sempre nel cuore, dal più complicato al più adorabile.

Parlerò del rapporto tra insegnante e studente nel prossimo post...perché è giusto condividere quello che è "bello" di questo lavoro.

That's what I'm listening to right now (yes it's not classical) and that's what I'm dedicating to you, if you're a musician who had a moment where you thought the music was leaving you. But you can't, she can't...you want it maybe because you are angry, but in the end it always comes back, or it turns/change.

Having moments of confusion or total change is normal, all that confusion will become clear again sooner or later. The music hardly ever goes away.
🔸
My life always turned around music. But it's always change, never one direction and sometimes it's just hard to understand what's is going on and accept it.
🔸
But remember, the goal is the same for everyone = The joy of making music (in any way, style, method). If you play or if you teach, if you listen to it or if you feel it. Whether you love her or not, she will continue to love you and if you leave her, you will continue to remember that love.
